Britt Kurent started Kurent Events as a boutique catering company in 2009 when she realized the need for a catering company that actually made its priority great food.  In 2013 she built a commercial kitchen in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, which is now the home of Kurent Events. After having graduated from the U. of Southern California and working in the fashion industry in L.A., Britt attended The Institute of Culinary Education, graduating with diplomas in both culinary arts and management. Next, Britt worked at Gramercy Tavern as a cook in both the savory and pastry kitchens. There, she met many of the talented chefs that make up her catering roster, which is one of the most diverse in New York.  Kurent Events is proud to have some of the best trained chefs in the city, many of whom have gone on to open critically acclaimed restaurants and even be nominated for James Beard Awards.
